Oluwo warns manufacturers against sabotaging Tinubu

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has called on local manufacturers of goods in the country to desist from acts tantamount to sabotage against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Oluwo’s admonition followed the increase in the prices of some locally manufactured goods, which the monarch considered unjustifiable.

He spoke in Iwo on Saturday at the 60th anniversary and inauguration of an ultra-modern hall built by alumni of Iwo Grammar School, Iwo.

The monarch, who said President Tinubu considered the interest of the local manufacturers when he refused to open Nigeria’s borders despite the call for that, added that the manufacturers should return the gesture by keeping prices within the reach of the people.

He said, “Nigeria is going through a rebirth, and during labour, the mother will go through hardship and when she gives birth, Nigeria will laugh last and will be great again because this time will pass.

“We can as well open our borders for importation but the government wants to help local manufacturers.

“This is not about foreign exchange, why will cement be sold for N10,000? Local manufacturers must desist from trying to sabotage this government. They should work with this present administration to succeed; we can see that the current government is trying and we know that we have capable hands in his cabinet.”
