Ondo 2024: Aiyedatiwa declares interest, gets support of 18 lawmwkers

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has formally declared his interest in the November governorship election.

The Governor made the declaration at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade, Akure on Tuesday.

Aiyedatiwa reassured the people of his commitment to bring development to the state if voted as Governor and also restore the lost glory of the state, promising to consolidate on the achievements of the late former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

Also at the event, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Olajide, said that a total of 18 lawmakers are in support of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to emerge as the party’s candidate in the governorship election.

He said: “Ondo Assembly has agreed to support Aiyedatiwa. Even those not in the APC are with us in this struggle and by the grace of God, we will arrive at the Promised Land. I appeal to our leaders to go back to their wards and do the needful. Let reconciliation continue so that we will deliver Lucky as the party’s candidate.”
