One of the aspirants, who contested for the April 20 governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olusola Oke (SAN), on Friday, declared support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the November 16 governorship poll.
Oke, who collapsed his political structure for Aiyedatiwa, said that he resisted the pressure to challenge the outcome of the primary in court.
The aspirant, who spoke during a meeting with his political associates and followers at his residence in Akure, the state capital, stressed that his interest is in the unity of the party and its victory in the coming gubernatorial election.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives member representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, Donald Ojogo, stated that with the action of Oke, the APC is now in good stead to win the November 16 election.
On his part, Aiyedatiwa hailed Oke and his supporters for their support for his candidature, describing the event as victory for the APC in the coming governorship poll.
The governor, who described Oke as his big brother and a man of integrity, said Oke had shown his leadership qualities and loyalty to the common good of the APC.
Also, the state’s Chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin, commended Oke and his supporters for taking the step to openly declare support for Aiyedatiwa.
