Peter Obafemi plans befitting for late mother

Many who attended the 90th birthday Madam Patience Olutayo Obafemi the mother of Otunba Peter Obafemi,  a businessman and socialite  four years ago will definitely attest to the fact that it was a grand party which for many reasons became a reference point  in the social circle. The birthday  was witnessed by the high and the mighty across all walks  of life.

The Ekiti state born aviation top shot according to a source planned to celebrate his mother 95th birthday coming August in a more grand way; but according to the popular saying, Man proposes God disposes, this  is not to be as the grim reaper struck and  the nonagenarian  succumbed to the cold hands of death February 2012, few months to her 95th birthday.

A source revealed to Society Watch that since the death of the Abeokuta Ogun State  born trader, her son, Otunba Obafemi has been mourning, this is because of the strong bond between the son and his late mum.

But the former Ekiti State governorship aspirant has no reason to question God as the woman lived a fulfilled life.  In fact, he  has every reason to thank God for so many things.  Not too many are as lucky as he is in life.  Indeed,  if there is anything at all that he is thankful to God for,  it is the fact that He has kept his mother for that long,  alive till old age in good health until she bid farewell to this sinful world penultimate weeks.

Consequently,  Obafemi, is not leaving any  stone unturned towards giving the late trader a befitting burial. As disclosed , in life  one of her oft-repeated prayers was to be survived by children who would give her a befitting burial whenever she breathed her last.  Her prayer has come to past as she is survived by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. So, the children are ready to honour her  with a befitting funeral that would be remarkable and remained at the lips of many that would be attending for a very long time.

As hinted the funeral programme is expected to kick off April 12, 2021 with service of songs, wake keep and expected to reach it crescendo on April 16, 2021 while she would lowered to her final resting place at the Ebony Vault, Ikoyi Lagos.

‘’Remember Dr. Obafemi doesn’t do his own things in half measure; he is working round to give his mother a befitting burial she deserved, however, with full compliance  with to COVID-19 protocol,”  the source added.

A cursory look at Obafemi’s  journey in life revealed that he started his first business enterprise in 1985 named Budget TV and Appliances Rental Service Store on Central Avenue in East Orange, New Jersey and was a consultant in the opening of Heritage Spas on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, which became the place of choice for discerning customers.

It is also on record that between 1985 and 1988, he owned one of the largest Western Union franchises in the state of New Jersey.

The Ekiti State- born businessman made the impossible possible when he opened the route, Lagos- Atlanta direct flight possible with his Ritetime/ World Airways.
