Police release fresh updates on Mohbad’s death
The Lagos State Police Command has issued a press release about the ongoing investigation on the cause of the death of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad.
The police shared this video on social media on the Force’s X handle on Friday, October 6, as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, enlightened the public about how far their investigations have gone.
He said: “Many of the witnesses earlier listed alleged that the deceased was indeed bullied and assorted several times by Naira Marley and Sam Larry and their gangs.
“It was affirmed that sometime in 2019 the deceased was allegedly signed by Naira Marley into his record label known as Marlian Music Limited. Due to disagreement in terms of the contract, the deceased pressed for the revocation of his contractual relationship with the Marlian Music while also pushing to relief his then manager, who was brother to Naira Marley.
“It was alleged that this moves hide the suspects who in consequence allegedly severally conspired, bullied, and assaulted the deceased. It was also asserted by some witnesses with corroborative video evidence that before his demise MohBad had raised alarm that his life was been threatened, that he was been bullied and assaulted by Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
“Upon the arrest, Abdulazeez Adesina Fasola, Naira Marley and Samson Erinfolami Balogun, Sam Larry denied allegation of complicity in the death of MohBad by pleading an alibi that they were both out of the country when the incident occurred and were not in any manner involved in the chain of the event that occasioned his eventual death between 10th to 12th September,2023.
“However, there are preponderant of evidence linking both Naira Marley and Sam Larry to the allegation of threat to life, cyber stocking, and sundry crimes committed against MohBad in his lifetime and they are been so held liable.
“From the investigation so far conducted, it has being established as follows;
The chain of events that directly and specifically led to the death of Illerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba aka MohBad occurred between the 10th to 13th of September 2023, and the location stretched over Ikorodu and Lekki, Lagos. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, Female, who has an auxiliary nurse administered multiple and highly potent injections which triggered an immediate reaction that eventually occasioned the death of MohBad…”
