RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE EXTENDS FOOD OUTREACH TO BAUCHI, RECORDS 29TH BENEFICIARY STATE

The Food Outreach Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), under its Social Investment Scheme, has extended its intervention to Bauchi State, making it the 29th State to benefit from the outreach.

The food items were formally presented to the Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for onward distribution to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across the state.

The First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, at the event, reiterated the Initiative’s strong commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians through sustained food interventions and other programs.
Represented by the wife of the Vice-President and National Vice Chairman of the RHI, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the First Lady said the Initiative has been sustained through the commitment of two donors providing two truckloads of food items to RHI monthly.

She identified the donors as the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) and an anonymous donor, adding that the Bauchi consignment was provided by the anonymous donor.

The First Lady expressed appreciation to both donors for their generosity and sustained commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable Nigerians.

Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, described the outreach as an impactful initiative and a testament to the compassionate leadership of the First Lady of Nigeria.

Represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Jatau, the Governor expressed appreciation to Sen. Tinubu for her unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.

He assured that the state government would continue to provide agricultural subsidies, economic empowerment schemes and educational support to improve citizens’ livelihoods.

Governor Bala Mohammed said while short-term relief remained necessary, the government’s broader objective was to promote long-term economic self-reliance among the people.

The wife of the Bauchi State Governor and State Coordinator of RHI, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, announced cash assistance for beneficiaries alongside the food items.

She said the cash support would facilitate transportation of the food items to various local communities and vulnerable groups across the state.

With Bauchi State as the 29th beneficiary, the Renewed Hope Initiatives Food Outreach Programme, the food outreach has now reached 28 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Katsina and Akwa Ibom States are expected to benefit from the intervention next, further expanding its reach across the country.

The Food Outreach Programme forms part of RHI’s broader commitment to complementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by providing practical support to vulnerable Nigerians.

The intervention particularly targets persons with disabilities and others facing difficult circumstances, with the aim of cushioning hardship and strengthening social inclusion.
