Resuscitated Warri Refinery New Year gift to Nigerians – Gov Okpebholo

The Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has described the rehabilitation and functioning of the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company, WRPC, as a New Year gift to Nigerians.

Governor Okpebholo assured that the state government would continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government to restore national pride and make Nigeria a hub for crude oil refining in Africa.

The governor, however, hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited for the restart of the 125,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company (WRPC).

He opined that the restoration of the Warri refinery marks a turnaround in the nation’s petroleum sector.

“For me, this is certainly a New Year gift to Nigerians. Edo State will continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government to restore our national pride and make Nigeria a hub for crude oil refining in Africa.

“I hail President Tinubu for his reforms in the sector, which have started yielding positive results for the advancement of the economy, and I call on Nigerians to support him.

“With the Warri, Port Harcourt, and Dangote refineries working simultaneously, there is hope that the petroleum sector is taking a new turn.

“I want to join other Nigerians in congratulating President Tinubu and the NNPCL under Mele Kyari for successfully reviving the Warri Refinery,” he said.
