Riopop Quran Competition: Winners emerge in second edition; get cash prizes

The much anticipated second edition of the laudable initiative bankrolled by a confettionary company, Riopop Sweet, Riopop Quran competition , has been held in Lagos and, expectedly, springing up winners from the competition, and accordingly, all went home with various cash prizes.

While product of DAA’RUL QURAN , a Quran learning center at Ajegunle Apapa, emerged 1st in the competition and won a cash prize of N200.000; that of HASSAN BIN THABIT, Ijora Badia, came 2nd and went home with a cash prize of N150.000; Quran student of MAHDUL FATHI, Orisunbare, picked the 3rd position and got a cash reward of N100.000.

Basking in the euphoria of the successful hosting of the competition, the organizers extended their appreciation to the participants for playing by the rules of the event , just as they thanked everyone that made the hosting of the competition a success.

Speaking further, the organizers, Riopop Sweet, reiterated their commitment to the sustainability of the competition, which according to them is anchored on the numerous benefits inherent in the exercise. “Riopop is committed to this competition, and we are happy at the acceptance it has attracted so far, and we are optimistic that it is going to gather greater momentum as time goes on. Having said that, it is important to state that we have a beautiful disposition to the exercise because of the values that are there. As we can all see, organizing an exercise like this with rewards for the winners will make more children develop interest in knowing what is in the Quran, and that means they are learning the way of God. On the other hand, it’s a way of giving back to our customers, who are mainly children, and by so doing, we are also giving back to society at a time when the economy is not so friendly.”

As preparation and entries for the next edition that will come up next month (November) are expected to begin immediately since it’s a monthly affiar, the grandfinale of the first season will hold March 2025 during the annual Ramadan period. All the participants that came first in all the editions will be made to slug it out with themselves at the grandfinale, where the winner would win a scholarship award that will run to the university level.

Meanwhile, the opportunity to take part in the subsequent editions of Riopop Quran Competition is still very open to Quran learning centers that might be interested, as they can listen for directives and information on Riopop Sweet sponsored show on Radio Lagos. The radio show tagged AGANLAYE that is anchored by Jumobi Omisore is aired every Wednesday between 2:30 to 3pm.
