The Rivers State House of Assembly has served a notice of alleged gross misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.

According to a report by Channels TV, the lawmakers stated that the notice aligns with the Nigerian Constitution, specifically Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The assembly members emphasized their authority to take such action, citing the deputy governor’s alleged misconduct in office.

While the assembly previously denied any plans to impeach Governor Fubara, speculation has been rife about ongoing political maneuvering to remove him from office.
