Toluwanisings’ family seeks donations to support widow, kids

The family of Olayemi Bolaji, the late Nigerian gospel singer better known as Toluwanisings, has appealed for financial support for his widow following his death.

Toluwanisings passed away on October 14, although the cause of death remains unknown.

In a post shared on the singer’s Instagram page on October 21, the family asked supporters to rally around his wife as the family grieves.

The post, accompanied by a flier displaying bank account details for contributions, noted that every donation represents an act of kindness and solidarity.

“A Call for Love & Support, as we mourn the loss of our beloved brother, let us stand with his wife during this difficult season,” it reads.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, is a gesture of love and compassion.

“May God bless every giving heart and grant the family strength and comfort.”

In another post, the family unveiled plans for a night of tributes and service of songs in celebration of his life and ministry.

In an invitation describing him as “our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister,” the family said the gathering would honour a life that touched many, adding that they mourn “with heavy hearts, yet in gratitude to God”.

The event is set for October 27, at 3pm at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan.

Guests are requested to dress in white.

Toluwanisings was known for his energetic praise songs, Yoruba-inspired gospel music, and contemporary worship recordings.

His popular hits include ‘A Very Big God’, ‘Eleda’, and ‘I’m Not Alone’.

Babadunni Gbolabo, personal assistant to Toluwanisings, recently recounted his final moments, noting that he was “fine and in perfect condition” before he suddenly slumped.

He said attempts were made to resuscitate the singer, who was taken to eight hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo state, but they all refused to admit him, giving various reasons.
