‘He wants Nigeria better than he met it’ — Tompolo asks Benue residents to re-elect Tinubu in 2027
Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, grand patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, has urged residents of Benue to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
In a statement on Thursday, the movement’s media unit said Tompolo spoke in Makurdi during the inauguration of its Benue state chapter and the distribution of 25 campaign vehicles to state coordinators.
Represented by Kestin Pondi, managing director of Tantita Security Services, Tompolo said Tinubu had demonstrated concern for the security of lives and property through the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s 5 Division headquartered in Makurdi.
He also cited the state police bill, local government autonomy and electricity bills, removal of petrol subsidy and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as examples of Tinubu’s policies and reforms.
“He is a president that wants Nigeria to be better than he met it. Tinubu is doing what no leader before him had the courage to do even though he knew it will turn the people against him,” the statement reads.
“We like to compare Nigeria with Asian countries that are doing so well but one thing we forget to remember is that these countries reforms were done in more than eight years.
“They had bold leaders, they had courageous leaders who said we must reform and they stood by those reforms and today, they are the envy of the world. They are some of the most developed and civilised countries of the world.
“Here in Nigeria, we have Tinubu, a man that is as courageous or even more courageous than those leaders. The man said we must reform and he has embarked on the reforms.”
The statement added that Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, said Tinubu’s support had contributed to the state government’s development projects.
Alia thanked the president for prioritising security in Benue, particularly through the establishment of the army division in Makurdi earlier in the year.
He said the deployment of military personnel to conflict-affected communities and border areas had improved security, enabling some internally displaced persons (IDPs) to return home and resume farming.
The governor said the development would help Benue maintain its position as a major food-producing state.
He also listed factories, 670 kilometres of roads, free basic education, rehabilitation projects, mechanised agriculture and the upgrading and equipping of health centres and hospitals among his administration’s achievements.
Alia urged residents to campaign and vote for Tinubu’s re-election to sustain the president’s policies and programmes.
