Tussle for Olu of Agboyi Stool Ends, as Abimbola Oladega Emerges Oba-Elect

In the last seven years that the immediate past Olu of Agboyi town, Lagos state, Oba Disu Alagbe Akinlabi passed on to join his ancestors, a very fierce battle as regards who will become the next King of the town ensued and all interested parties didn’t relent in their bid to emerge victorious from the context. Among these contestants however, Prince Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, from Akinmasa ruling house of Odoyi Ogbo royal family, has eventually  emerged victorious as the king makers unanimously endorsed him to ascend the royal throne.

Prince Oladega, during a quarterly meeting of Kosofe Council of Obas and Chiefs at Agboyi  Ketu LCDA, was confirmed as the Oba-elect of Agboyi. The meeting was presided over by Oba Bashiru Soliu Oluwatoyin , Oloworo of Oworo Kingdom, who is the chairman.

Kings present at the crucial meeting include, Olojota of Ojota land, Onikosi of Ikosi land, Alaketu of Ketu , Oba of Shangisa land. Also, all Baales and Chiefs in Kosofe were present as well as Council officials and other well meaning individuals. . The news of Prince Oladega emerging as Oba-elect of Agboyi has since turned the atmosphere in Agboyi to a joyous one as all and sundry are happy about the development even as they are sure a new dawn is about to berth in the town after years of draught of development.

Meanwhile, Agboyi Oba –Elect, Prince Oladega and other individuals who have been elected as Obas in their various communities are billed to be officially installed by the Lagos state governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo –Olu, after he may have assumed office.

Prince Oladega, an accomplished electrical engineer, sits atop a flourishing mechanical and electrical outfit, Ladegs Nigeria Limited. With his exposure, experience and his influence among the political class, it is believed he will be able to facilitate rapid development in the town and make huge difference when he eventually ascends the throne as the Olu of Agboyi land.
