LAND GRABBING CRISIS ESCALATES IN ISASHI-AKUTE AS WOMAN MOLESTED BY HOODED THUGS

Residents of Isashi-Akute, particularly at Afe Olusegun, Isashi, are raising alarms over the growing menace of land grabbing, which has taken a violent turn, leaving victims traumatized and property owners at risk of losing their hard-earned investments.

In a disturbing development, a yet-to-be-identified woman was reportedly molested and harassed by suspected land grabbers who stormed the area, forcefully taking possession of lands and intimidating rightful owners. Witnesses described the attackers as armed thugs working under the cover of powerful individuals, using violence to dispossess people of their legally owned lands.

Community members lamented the persistent land disputes in the Isashi-Akute axis, urging the Ogun State Government, law enforcement agencies, and relevant authorities to step in before the situation escalates further.

Speaking on the issue, a resident who pleaded anonymity said: “This is getting out of hand. We are living in fear. These land grabbers do not only seize lands illegally, but they also harass and assault people, including women. The government must intervene before it turns into a full-blown crisis.”

It is alarming that despite the Ogun State Anti-Land Grabbing Law, which criminalizes forceful takeover of lands, perpetrators continue to act with impunity. Residents are calling on the police and local government authorities to take immediate action to protect the lives and properties of law-abiding citizens.

The people of Isashi-Akute demand justice for the assaulted woman and a lasting solution to the growing land grabbing menace before more lives and properties are put at risk.
