Zamfara moves against insecurity, shuts down telecommunication services

The current security situation in Zamfara has made our government adopt new measures in order to tackle the resurgence of insurgency in the state.
We have banned the sale of petroleum except in the 14 local government headquarters, sell of more than N10,000 worth of petrol is banned, sell of petrol in jericans is prohibited, illegal petrol sellers ( Black market) are banned from selling petrol. Also, motorcycles and tricycles are banned from operating after 6pm. All primary and secondary schools are to be closed indefinitely until the state government says otherwise. The state govt has imposed a curfew from 6pm to 6am respectfully. Telecommunications services is to be shutdown for 2 weeks, starting “ 3rd September “ in order to enable security agencies carry out required operations and activities towards addressing the security challenges in the state. Globacom is directed to shutdown all sites in Zamfara state and neighboring states that could provide telecommunication services in Zamfara. The state government is pleading to the citizens to abide by these measures.
