Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has delegated authority to his deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, to act as the State’s governor in his absence.
An executive communication read by Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan said Governor Zulum would be going on a month-long vacation.
Hon. Lawan stated that Kadafur will serve as governor from June 10 to July 8, 2024, and that the governor’s actions were compliant with the pertinent articles of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution.
The Speaker stressed that the action was required to guarantee the smooth operation of state activities and the continuity of governance.
During his first term of office, Governor Zulum had similarly transferred authority to his deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, when he embarked on the yearly Hajj.
