2027: Seyi Makinde announces interest in presidential race
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Thursday officially declared his intention to run in the 2027 presidential race.
He made the declaration at a mega rally held at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital, where he unveiled grand alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Makinde announced his the alliance under what he called “Reset Nigeria Movement.”
He declared “Therefore, today, I Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
He explained that the alliance was borne out of alleged plot to foist one party system on Nigeria.
Makinde declared that it’s time to reset Nigeria by tackling the socioeconomic and political challenges facing the country.
“This is the time to confront our fears. Do not be afraid,” Makinde said while urging Nigerians to engage in the development issues as citizens and not as onlookers.
