Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has praised the Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his consistent criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
However, he also cautioned that some of Obi’s recent remarks may be crossing the line into pettiness.
Doyle made the comments in a Facebook post on Thursday, noting that while Obi plays a critical role in holding the government accountable, the tone of some of his criticisms could be counterproductive.
“Kudos to Obi for being a consistent critic of the Tinubu administration, but some of his criticisms are borderline neurotic and outright petty,” Doyle wrote.
He however did not give an example of Obi’s statements he found petty.
The actor’s remarks come amid growing political tensions and increased public scrutiny of the Tinubu-led government.
While many Nigerians applauded Doyle’s assessment, others took to social media to express disagreement, defending Obi’s approach as necessary in the face of perceived governmental shortcomings.
