The Zaar communities of Bauchi State have expressed delight over the appointment of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as the Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company.
The communities expressed their delight during a press conference in Tafawa Balewa town on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, Warrant Officer (Retd) Emmanuel Peter, who led the briefing, hailed President Bola Tinubu for appointing their son, Dogara, noting him as a worthy son of Zaar land.
Peter at the event stated that as the Pioneer Board Chairman of NCGC, the Za’ar communities “mark today as a significant and historic moment in the life of our people, who have come together in unity, strength, and gratitude to publicly declare and pass a vote of confidence on one of our own, Yakubu Dogara, a true son of Zaar land and pride to our people.”
According to him, the press conference, which was also organised to pass a vote of confidence on the ex-Speaker, reflects the overwhelming support and admiration the Zaar nation has for him.
“Men, women, and youths from across our communities have come out in their large numbers to witness and affirm this declaration – a testament to the love, trust, and respect we have for his visionary leadership,” the Zaar/Sayawa community maintained.
He added that “over the years, Dogara had consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and commitment to the development of Zaar land, stressing that through Dogara’s efforts, Zaar land and its people have witnessed the implementation of capital projects which has massively improved infrastructure like education, health, and general well-being of our people.
“Most notably, he has been instrumental in securing permanent and pensionable appointments for many Zaar youths in the various ministries, departments, and agencies at the federal level, offering them not just jobs but a future with dignity and security.
“It is for these reasons and many more that we, the Zaar people, stand united in passing this vote of confidence on Yakubu Dogara. His leadership has brought pride to our land and hope to our people,” he insisted.
The community thanked President Tinubu for appointing Dogara as the Chairman of NCGC, describing the appointment as a recognition of his capacity and an honour to the entire Zaar land.
“We reaffirm our total support for Yakubu Dogara and pray for God’s continued guidance and protection over his life and service to the nation,” Peter stated.
He assured that the Zaar communities would reciprocate the gesture during the 2027 general elections, saying, “Our people are united, and the president has our full support in the coming election.”
