Bringing that Afe Babalola-Farotimi Saga to a close is gracious to all
The attempts to bring the imbroglio surrounding the “Afe Babalola versus Dele Farotimi” case to an end are perfectly correct. They are apt and appropriate whichever way you look at it and from whichever angle. Above all, they are gracious to all.
Those who pleaded with Chief Afe from the start and recently have done well and are in order. They are the ones referred to in the Gospel, according to St Mathew. Chief Afe, who accepted to forgive and _f’owo wo’nu,_ is perfectly correct. *Agba won a da’le.* God bless him.
Chief Afe is my mentor, (senior) friend, and brother-in-law. His wife, Dupe, is my sister. But me, I was too filled with anger to plead with Chief Afe or imagine that he would accept any of the numerous pleas. But pleading with the Chief is the right thing to do, and accepting is the gracious thing to do. God bless their Royal Majesties, who finally sealed this off. God bless His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, Bishop Hassan Kukah, and all the other peacemakers.
It is time for us all to realise that *Nigeria is in our hands* to repair or further damage and that we should adopt and imbibe the *principles of social justice* to enable us correctly rebuild the judiciary, the economy, the power and energy sectors, the infrastructure, and so on for the emancipation and empowerment of the citizens.
Dr Olu Agunloye,
Erusu. Akoko.
