A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state and Chairman/Chief Executive of Oyo-Si-Maa-Dun Foundation, Mr. Abisoye Fagade, has described the transition of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade lll, as a monumental loss not only to the Yoruba race but also the black continent of Africa.

Family sources have confirmed that the First Class monarch, who reigned for 48 years, passed away in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 95 years after the news of his demise had filtered in through the social media.
Fagade, in his condolence message contained in a statement issued and made available to journalists in Ibadan today by his media aide, Comrade Kehinde Idowu, said the the late monarch would be sorely missed while the vacuum created by his demise would be very difficult to fill.
“The late Soun was a quintessential leader who impacted lives of his people in no small measure. He was self-made in the area of business and other accomplishments but he did everything possible to uplift others in the society. We would have loved to have him around for any more years but we cannot question God who just called him to glory at a ripe age of 95 years.
“Meanwhile, the vacuum created by the death of the revered monarch would be difficult to fill as he would be sorely missed. The history of Ogbomosoland and Oyo state will not be complete without a good mention of Oba Ajagungbade III and it is on this premise that we find solace even as we celebrate his legacy of integrity, astuteness and discipline.
“We, at Oyo-Si-Maa-Dun Foundation, therefore extend our deep condolences to the Oyewumi royal family, eminent sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland including Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala and Chief Akin Oke, as well as the people of Yoruba over the passing of the respected traditional ruler.” Fagade stated.
