While everyone was in great mood, savoring the atmosphere of the festive season that is just wrapping up, inmates of Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN) Centre, at Amuwo Odofin Local Council, Lagos, were not left out of the groove.
The kind gesture that put smile on the faces of these inmates was at the instance of a non governmental organization, Gems Heart One Love Foundation, founded by Funmilayo Mobolaji.
In the bid of the reach out which was tagged, Christmas Food Drive Season 2, the spinal cord injury victims were treated to a great time as packs of sumptuous meals, among other things gifts were distributed to them. The inmates were visibly happy to have been remembered by Funmilayo, who along members of her team also took time to interact and engage them in wonderful manner.
The train of Christmas Food Drive Season 2, later moved to the National Stadium, Surulere, where the same set of people were also shown love, on the 23rd of December, 2021.
Gold, as founder of Gems Heart One Love Foundation, is also called, in a chat with JustNews, said her foundation particularly targeted the spinal cord injury victims for the reach out, during the festive season. Gold who is also a spinal cord injury victim, said she deliberately decided to visit the spinal cord injury victims to make them have a feel of the season more so that they have issues moving around.
Not hindered by her condition, Funmi, through her foundation, has for a couple of years taken it on herself to reach out to different classes of people in the society that includes, the orphans, homeless, people living with disabilities among others.
