Following the second term ambition of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state that appear   to be uncertain, the grey beards wearing lawyer turn politician may have heave a sigh of relief as he’s reported to have succeeded in pacifying the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, towards realizing his dream of gunning for another as governor of the Sunshine state.

Going by the way the then leadership of APC led by John Oyegun was perceived to have ensured the emergence of Akeredolu as the party’s governorship candidate as against the general interest of the party members in the state and some national leaders, Akeredolu has since been a parallel line with some big shotslike Tinubu and lot of party faithful. It is at this instance some members started strategizing to ensure Akeredolu’s second term ambition is thwarted. A party chieftain in the state, Isaac Kekemeke was reported to have started to be groomed to take over from Akeredolu when the election finally comes next year.

While Akeredolu may have succeeded in pacifying Asiwaju by swallowing his pride, he might still have a long way to go in putting back in shape his dented image among party members and the leadership in Ondo state, who are hell bent in ensuring he doesn’t have APC ticket for the second term.

Meanwhile, Akeredolu’s meeting with Asiwaju was said to have been facilitated by a former APC national vice chairman southwest, Chief Pius Akinyelure .

Report says, Tinubu assured Akeredolu that “the war was over” and tasked him on the need to reconcile all different tendencies in the Ondo APC.

On his part, Governor Akeredolu thanked Tinubu and promised to work for the unity of the party.
