IKEJA CONSTITUENCY 2: HON. KASUNMU WINS WITH A LANDSLIDE

Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Lagos State House of Assembly seat for Ikeja Constituency 2.

The youthful lawmaker who has been occupying the seat since 2015 polled 16, 891 votes to defeat 16 other Contestants including the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lateef Onisuna, who garnered 4,341 votes to come a distant second in a historic election that took place peacefully across the Constituency on Saturday.

Results from the Polling Units in various parts of the Constituency revealed that Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu won in all the 455 polling units in the area, including polling unit 019 and 001 Ojodu where his PDP and ADC rivals voted respectively.
At polling unit 019, APC scored 121 votes against PDP’S 41 while at polling unit 001 APC polled 161 to beat ADC candidate, Victor Enike who scored 34.

Reacting to his victory this morning shortly after he was declared re-elected, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu said “This victory is first of all to the Glory of God Almighty. I also dedicate this victory to the youth of Ikeja Constituency 2, the youth of Lagos state and Nigeria at large”.
The Lawmaker who is the youngest member of the 8th Assembly, also seized the opportunity to appreciate the leadership of APC across board as well as all members of the party and the electorate of Ikeja Constituency 2 played vital roles in his re-election.
