Gracefully ageing George Adeshola Oguntade is a man whose influence and connections cut across different sections of the society. He’s well respected and regarded as a worthy role model in the society.

However, the dark skinned socialite did not attain the enviable status overnight, but as a result of how he planned his life throughout his hardworking days as a legal luminary.

He was born in Epe, Lagos State over seventy years ago and after his education that saw him trained as a lawyer, young Oguntade in 1966 was called to the Bar.

His dedication, diligence and steadfastness made him rise through the ranks. At different points, he was Chief Judge of Lagos State, Judge of the Appeal Court, before he eventually became a Supreme Court Judge in 2004. At the statutory retirement age, seventy, Oguntade, in 2010 gracefully retired from the Bench.

As a technocrat, he has since been contributing to the development of the nation among other roles he has played in the society as a private individual.

The honourable man, in recent weeks has been in the news for reasons that are worth celebrating and it’s been celebration for him and his household. First to come was his announcement as the Nigeria‘s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and next to follow was the wedding ceremony of his step son.

Following his new designation as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, his bosom friend of over forty years, Industrialist billionaire, Chief Razak Akanni Okoya, in honour of Oguntade, held a dinner to celebrate his new attainment.

On that heel, all roads led to Okoya’s palatial home in Lagos where the new Ambassador and guests were treated to a great time. Ijebu born billionaire, Otunba Subomi Balogun, Retired General Ike Nwachukwu, former Lagos Deputy Governor, Femi Pedro and wife, former Ogun State Governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, were among important guests who were in the house to celebrate George Oguntade.

Members of the high society would some days later honour the invitation of the High Commissioner, Justice Oguntade and his beautiful, Modupe, whose son, Foluso Aina got married to his Edo State-born lover, Jennifer Ihkhurere.

As one who is known to be celebrating with others, it was therefore not a surprise that important personalities trooped out in their numbers to identify with the Oguntades.

The coming together of Foluso and Jennifer which held at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lekki, was nothing short of success even as it turned out to be very glamourous in nature. Lots of dignitaries in attendance such as former minister, Demola Seriki, Senator Lanre Tejuosho , Chief Razak Okoya and wife, Prince Sam Adedoyin and wife , Wale Babalakin , Oba Otudeko, to mention a few were on hand to be part of the glamourous event.
